With skin cancer on the rise it is important to take care of yourself. Using sunscreen is important and not getting too much sun exposure is too. I love the sun and I tan really easily and quickly. I am getting older though and I realize that it ages you and those cute little freckles are not really freckles. With the ozone layer being damaged taking care of your skin is even more important.
Another thing that I love about Sally Hansen’s leg make up is I can spray a little on my arms and it looks very natural. Make sure you shave your legs, (I wouldn’t let my husband shave his! Ha) I spray it on over the bathtub so it doesn’t net on the floor or carpet, or over a towel. It will stay on for quite a while and doesn’t come off with perspiration.
I like to have moisturizer on under it because it has a tendency to dry your skin. I lightly smooth it out with my hands so it is not to heavy.
My husband would never admit it but he uses it on his legs too. You would never believe that it is not a natural tan. The biggest problem for me is finding where to hide it from him.

As a “fake bake” addict, I relied on my healthy golden glow to define me, to make me feel young and beautiful, and as my personal “alone time” each and every day. When I was diagnosed with Lupus and strictly forbidden from anymore trips to the tanning salon, my world seemed to melt around me. Shallow, I know… But at 19 years broken-down, I had finally outgrown my “ugly duckling” phase and had actually felt beautiful with this recent golden glow. Desperate to maintain my rich, golden tone; I set out in search of the perfect alternative. I have tried everything from bargain brand self tanners to the top of the line products, and as ashamed as I am for being fooled, have even tried the tanning pills. After years of weekly product experimentations, the salon began offering the Mystic spray tan. Finally I had thought. Less effort, more realistic, and a lower chance for mistakes. Boy was I wrong. I was less than thrilled with the next generation of miracle tans and continued to slather those smelly, messy creams and lotions onto my body every couple of days.
On one particularly moody day as I moaned and groaned, fed up with the dramas involved in self tanning lotions, I could hear a voice echoing from the television location. When my Jet Tan system arrived, I immediately stopped what I had been doing to shower, exfoliate, and tan. I felt a little like a car that was in the body shop getting a new paint job(Uh Oh, Better Get Maco!), but I was amazed by how realistic looking the tan was. The color was not only beautiful, but the even tone and ease of use was new to me. It took very itsy-bitsy time or effort and for the first time in years I was able to tan my hands and feet in a way that still appeared natural. Anyone that uses self tanners know that to make the tops of your hands and feet tan and natural looking is difficult, if not impossible with creams and lotions, but with Jet Tan I didn’t have to hide my feet in sneakers and could actually wear sandals without embaressment. I was zigzag… At least for the moment I was.
The best way to build up to a dark, yet natural looking tan is to apply the product every other day until you have reached your personal “perfect color” so after my first application and complete satisfaction, I cleaned out my airbrush tool as the directions said to and decided to go for application number two after skipping a day. As I loaded up my Jet tan tool with the airbrush solution and pulled the trigger I heard a sputter and a spit and felt a cool air float across my skin, but no color. I pressed my finger against the opening to build up pressure in the line and tried again. This time I watched again as I magically transformed my calf into that of a dark, golden beach dweller. Phew, I thought… Just a momentary scare. I continued up my leg, still hypnotized and in esteem with my newfound product when it began to sputter and spit again. This time a simple trick didn’t work and I began to see bubbles forming in the solution. It was just like our kids when they decide to blow bubbles into their milk rather than drink from the straw. Here I stood now, in awe and upset with only a quarter of my body a deep bronze. I tried everything to come by it going again, followed all of the directions, and watched the instructional dvd once again, but got nowhere. Finally fed up I decided to take the tool apart and fix it myself. Upon opening the gadget I could gaze no reason for the clog or reversal of spray, but can say that the airbrush gun is the cheapest, simplest thing I have ever seen. Although that fact is evident upon first glance, it becomes more obvious after looking into the “motor” of the machine. I truly felt my child could have built it. I did somehow, by pure magic get the tool working again. How? I really don’t know, but hey it was working again so I was content to have an all over bronze once again.
My review and best advice though is this.. The Jet Tan solution is the best, most realistic looking color I have found yet, and applying by means of airbrushing is the most incredible and exact final look I have ever seen, but skip out on the Jet Tan tanning tool unless you are able to get it at an incredibly low price. I do still use the Jet Tan solution, but have given up on the tool itself. I have instead found portable and professional airbrush tools being sold for as outrageous as $50.00 and am getting ready to order one. Although this may seem silly to some, to the rest of us who are determined to have a beautiful tan and have spent a fortune trying to find the perfect one, it’s a relief to finally stop searching.

I have been modeling for a while now and over the years I have learned some tips on how to prepare for a photo shoot. I hope these help you in creating some fabulous pictures.
Clothes- If you are bringing your own wardrobe make sure to pack all of your shoes and clothes in separate bags. I usually pack duffel bags but rolling luggage might be easier. Try on all outfits before packing them just to effect sure you have the look you are going for.
Jewelry- Bring a variety of rings, necklaces, bracelets, and even hair accessories.
Exfoliate- In the shower the night before make definite to shave and either spend exfoliation gloves or a scrub to get skin nice and smooth.
Spray Tan- Put on a thin layer of lotion first to get rid of any dry spots and then spray your entire body. I like to use Neutrogena’s micro-mist airbrush sunless tan. It’s easy and goes on evenly.
Makeup- If you are dong your enjoy make and you notion on doing different looks you should inaugurate with the easiest first. As the shoot goes on and you change into different outfits you can add makeup, which is easier then having to remove and re-start. Next shave or wax any areas where you will be using the lotion and thirdly (and probably most importantly) you will need to use a loofah or exfoliating scrub. This is to slough off any dead or excess skin before applying the lotion.
If you have ever stale a self tanner before and have skipped the exfoliation portion, you might have noticed little white dots or streaks have appeared. This is because some of the “tanned” skin has shed off after the fact, showing the white skin underneath. Therefore this is a very important part of the process.
Pay extra special attention to exfoliating rough spots such as elbows, knees, wrists and the ankle area where skin folds exist.
Moisturize Any Site that Has Creases
After taking special care to loofah any body parts that have creases, it is important to moisturize those areas as well. This will support the tanning lotion from getting into those creases and leaving darker lines in them. Be sure to use regular moisturizer on the same places mentioned above; elbows, knees, wrists and ankles.
Wait until it is dry before applying self tanning lotion.
Be Determined That Your Body and the Room That You are in is Completely Dry
Make sure your body is completely dried before applying the lotion. It is also important that the room that you are in is dry as well. Do not attempt to put the lotion on if the bathroom is still steamy from the shower or if you are sweating due to the heat. This will just end up in an uneven application.
Use Gloves
It is important to use gloves to avoid getting the lotion on the palms of your hands. The best types of gloves are the ones that hairdressers use when dying hair. They are thick enough to provide protection, yet thin enough that you can still feel what you are doing and can maneuver easily.
Start Applying
Start with your legs. Rub the tanning lotion in circular motions to ensure that there are no streaks and make sure you get every spot. Use the excess lotion from your legs when doing your feet and ankle area. These spots need less lotion so you want unbiased a very light coating. The same applies for your knees — apply extremely lightly.
Try not to apply directly to the sides of your feet, your heels or your toes. If you decide you want a little color there, apply with an extremely light touch because lotion will end up looking darker here.
Move onto your torso, chest and neck area. To reach your back you can either ask a friend to help or you can grasp a sponge paintbrush. Make sure the sponge and the handle are both about 3 inches long. That should be long enough to reach your entire back. Exercise a mirror to make sure you are getting all spots.
Next are your arms, underarms and shoulders. Again, beware of elbow station. Use an extremely light touch (if any at all) if your skin is already darker there.
Finally, the last place to apply is the tops of your hands. Remove your gloves and apply lotion to the tops of your hands and fingers. Then expend a wash cloth with soap on it to thoroughly clean your palms so they do not discolor from the tanner.
Be Patient
This is probably the toughest part of self tanning…the wait. You need to wait at least 20 minutes before putting on any type of clothing. It is vitally important that the lotion is completely dry. Even after the 20 minutes, you probably shouldn’t put on anything heavier than an old t-shirt that you wouldn’t be bothered about if it got a little stained. I have an old worn men’s T-shirt that I utilize just for this purpose.
It is best to wait at least a chubby hour before getting dressed in regular clothes. For convenience sake, using the self tanner an hour before bedtime is probably the best solution, so you do not need to worry about having to get dressed at all.
Stay Dry
For the best coverage do your best not to get wet for at least 3 hours afterwards. This includes swimming or doing anything that will cause you to sweat.
When to Reapply
Each person is different as well as each lotion. Reapplication can range from every 3 days to 5 days depending on how quickly your skin peels or how efficient the lotion. Only you can decide how often or how dark you would prefer your tan to be.

Estee Lauder is typically considered a first-rate and effective producer of a wide range of beauty products, including skin care products, make up, fragrances, and so remarkable more. Their line of Bronze Goddess Self-Tanning products may immediately appear reliable and effective to most consumers, but impartial how well do these products actually work?
I have always had a rather fair complexion. While I am generally very happy with my light skin tone, certain occasions call for the need to give myself a brighter natural glow. Rather than risking the dangers of tanning beds or extreme sun exposure, I have purchased and tried a wide variety of bronzing and self-tanning products. The majority of these products were blotchy, ineffective, and messy, while a select few worked wonders.
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Self-Tanning Lotion for Face unfortunately falls into the blotchy, ineffective, and messy category. Upon my first use of the product, I immediately noticed the thin and messy texture – which made it quite challenging to attempt to evenly distribute even the smallest amount of the product on my skin.
After I had given the lotion the directed amount of time to dry and properly set (which was fifteen minutes), my skin felt very sticky and I still could not apply my regular make up. Once the product had finally fully set and no longer felt sticky (roughly one hour after applying), I noticed the blotchy, uneven, and appalling appearance that this lotion had created. My face appeared to be anything but “natural” or “glowing”, but rather very orange, unnatural, and absolutely foolish.
Having paid over twenty dollars for the mere 1.7 ounce container, I did repeat the process as directed on two more occasions, in hopes of my accidentally missing a step or applying the product incorrectly. Unfortunately, the results were the same each and every time.
The directions for use recommend that the lotion be reapplied two or three times per week as need to “fill or deepen color”. These directions simply do not make sense, as the product was easily removed with my regular bath soap and warm water. Certainly the fine folks at Estee Lauder to not put a question to their customers to only wash their faces a few times a week.
I would not recommend Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Self-Tanning Lotion for Face to anyone wishing to add a healthy, natural, and beautiful glow to their face. In my experience, this product is overpriced, ineffective, messy, and a complete waste of time.
